Come join us at the West Bank TASK Party on Saturday, October 17, 8pm-12am at the West Bank Social Center! Free, with drinks available for purchase.
What is a TASK Party, you might ask? There are two basic rules that participants follow:
1) Write down a task on a piece of paper and add it to a designated “TASK pool.”
2) Pull a task from that pool and interpret it any which way you want, using whatever materials are available. When a task is completed, a write a new task, pull a new task, and so on.
TASK is the brainchild of artist Oliver Herring, who has facilitated these events all over the country. Of TASK, he says:
“TASK’s open-ended, participatory structure creates almost unlimited opportunities for a group of people to interact with one another and their environment. TASKs’ flow and momentum depend on the tasks written and interpreted by it’s participants. In theory anything becomes possible.”
